Budgam, Oct 08 — Former Chief Minister and National Conference (NC) Vice President Omar Abdullah expressed gratitude to the people of Budgam for their overwhelming support in the recent elections. Following his significant win, Abdullah remarked that those who attempted to undermine the NC have faced defeat at the hands of the electorate.
“I thank the people of Budgam for their support. Those who aimed to destroy the NC have now perished by the people’s verdict,” he stated during a press conference in Budgam. Abdullah achieved victories in both Budgam and Ganderbal, highlighting the NC’s strong performance in the region.
He emphasized that the mandate bestowed upon the NC carries substantial responsibility. “We must honor this mandate by addressing the demands of the people,” Abdullah affirmed, visibly pleased with the results.
The National Conference has performed strongly in Kashmir, securing nearly 30 seats, while the BJP has emerged as the largest party in Jammu with over 28 seats. Abdullah’s comments reflect the party’s commitment to serving the public following their electoral success.
