Residents of Awanta Bhawan Soura Srinagar protest Against installation of Smart Meters
08/04/2023: (JKNN) Residents of Awanata Bhawan Soura area staged a protest against installation of smart electricity meters in their area.
Scores of locals, assembled on roads against the move to install smart meters in the area.
Locals while Talking To JKNEWS Nation Said that
Everyone is not rich enough to pay huge bills for electricity.
We do not understand who are these meters being brought for when the local population has been opposing it right from day one Even in whole kashmir Recently massive protest held in different Area’s In Srinagar Also.
We cannot afford to pay the bills. We demand that the meters be withdrawn from our area,” a protester said.
“We are not Government employees,We have limited sources of income and we cannot pay extra charges for electricity,” said another protester.
