School Headmaster arrested with foreign-made pistol, grenades in Poonch: Officials
Poonch, Apr 21 (KS): A school headmaster has been arrested with a foreign-made pistol and grenades in Hari Budha area in Poonch district on Sunday, officials said.
Official sources told news agency Kashmir Scroll that after receiving specific inputs the army’s 39 RR, Romeo Force alongside Jammu and Kashmir Police and SOG Poonch apprehended a person with a foreign-made pistol and two grenades from his residence.
“The accused has been identified as Qamaruddin, a headmaster by profession,” they said.
“The consignment recovered from the accused person is suspected to be used to disturb law and order situation in the upcoming election in Poonch area,” the officials said.
“The accused is being questioned while a search operation is underway at the site,” they added. (KS)
