Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday said efforts are being made to organize tourism festivals in Sonamarg and other scenic destinations, following the success of similar events in Pahalgam. He emphasized that such initiatives are crucial for boosting the region’s tourism sector and attracting more visitors.Speaking to reporters in Pahalgam, CM Omar Abdullah as per news gathering agency KINS said, “We are working to promote J&K’s natural beauty and cultural heritage through these festivals. Tourism is vital for our economy, and we are committed to making the region a top travel destination.”When questioned about a tweet by party leader Aga Ruhullah, Omar Abdullah avoided addressing the matter directly, choosing instead to focus on tourism and other issues.Reacting to allegations by the BJP, Omar Abdullah criticized the saffron party, saying, “The BJP has failed miserably in the recent polls. Their narrative has not resonated with the people of Jammu and Kashmir”.
