5 dead, 100 feared trapped in landslide in Raigad; rescue operation under way

NAVI MUMBAI: Around 100 people from Irshalgad wadi in Khalapur, Raigad district, are said to be trapped due to a landslide which occurred late on Wednesday night, close to the Irshalgad fort.
So far, five bodies have been retrieved.
The deceased include a rescuer from the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation fire brigade, Shivaji Dhumane (48).
The massive landslide struck the tribal hamlet around 11pm on Wednesday while the people were sleeping and it was raining heavily.
