Central Kashmir: Encounter breaks out in outskirts of Srinagar
Srinagar, May 17:(GNS) A Gunfight has started between militants and government forces in Khanmoh area in outskirts of Central Kashmir’s Srinagar district on Monday.
Reports reaching GNS that a joint team of Police and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in Khanmoh.
As the joint team of forces encircled the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off an gunfight.
A senior police officer also confirmed to GNS about exchange of firing between militants and security forces.(GNS)

Khomoh Encounter: One militant killed, gunfight underway
Srinagar, May 17 (GNS): One militant has been killed in an ongoing encounter at Khanmoh area of Central Kashmir’s Srinagar on Monday.
The encounter had ensued after a team of police and army’s 50 RR was fired upon during a cordon-and-search operation launched in the area amid specific information about the presence of the militants.
“One militant has been killed in the ongoing gunfight. However identity of the slain militant is yet to be ascertained,” a police officer told GNS. (GNS)
