Man gets life imprisonment for raping stepdaughter
Thane, Jul 18 (PTI) A man was sentenced to life imprisonment by a court in Maharashtra’s Thane district on Monday for raping his stepdaughter between 2016 and 2018, an official said on Monday.
A co-accused was sentenced to 10 years in jail by Additional Sessions and Special Judge (POCSO) VV Virkar under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, Special Public Prosecutor Rekha Hiwarale said.
“The man, a mason, had raped the girl, 16 at the time, several times between 2016 and 2018. The co-accused, who was his construction site supervisor, also raped her. As many as 13 witnesses were examined during the trial,” the SPP said.
